The study you referenced doesn’t make the case you claim. The quote I gave demonstrates its poor reasoning.
In addition, the study claims that immigrants contribute to economic growth, but it doesn’t evaluate how much of that growth is consumed by the immigrants themselves. You need to make the case to native-born citizen Americans that they themselves will benefit by more immigration.
“ Immigrants fill shortages in the job market and pay taxes.”
Let the immigrants stay home, and let wages rise to fill those shortages. Wages rise and costs rise — in other words, economic growth. The increase in wages to Americans yields increased taxes, and the increase in income is . . . wait for it . . . economic growth! Except this growth goes entirely to Americans.
